As part of a major expansion in its programs, the Department of 
Communication at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a 
tenure-stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing 
in Communication & Artificial Intelligence (AI). Building and expanding 
on our strengths in this area, this position is focused on the use of AI 
and machine learning (ML) in media and organizations with a particular 
emphasis on AI/communication studies. The department is looking for 
potential candidates interested by the social, cultural, political and 
ethical aspects of artificial intelligence or an understanding of 
humans/AI interactions in different organizational contexts (e.g. 
interactions with chatbots, social robots, algorithmic platforms, 
recommender systems, etc.). The department is looking for candidates 
leading empirical studies and favoring a critical approach (e.g. 
responsibility of algorithms, AI in the workplace, governance and 
regulation of AI) or/and interactional (e.g. analysis of human/AI 
interactions, human collaboration/AI). Position expected to start July 
1, 2022.
