University of Essex us advertising for a new *Lecturer in Film Studies (Production)* in the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies at the University of Essex.

We are seeking to appoint a permanent, full-time Lecturer with a specialist focus in fiction and documentary film production and one or more of the following areas: screenwriting; social justice filmmaking; music video; animation; and digital media.Essex Film Studies has long foregrounded synergies between creative practice and scholarship, and the post holder would be expected to engage with these synergies where possible across teaching and student supervision. It is essential you have a relevant doctoral level research degree in Film and/or Digital Media or be close to completion.The post holder will have experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in Higher Education in imaginative, engaging and innovative ways, and have evidence of teaching in all aspects of filmmaking and innovation at HE level.You will ideally have a track record of internationally significant research, and evidence of a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) programmes.

We particularly welcome applications from those from an ethnic minority as they are under-represented in the Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies.
