*IJCMR Editorial Opportunity: Managing Editor*

The /International Journal of Creative Media Research/ is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed and open access journal devoted to pushing forward the approaches to and possibilities for publishing creative media-based research. Since launching in 2018, the journal has published five issues and has grown its readership internationally. As such, we now seek to hire a new Managing Editor to join our team and help to take the journal to new heights.

As Managing Editor you will work with the journal’s Co-Editors and oversee review processes from submission to publication, manage the journal’s inbox, and help to further boost the profile of the journal by leading on its social media channels and identifying future opportunities for submissions, including new special issues. This role would suit a postgraduate student or an early career researcher looking for journal editorial experience.

*Person Specification:*

  * A good understanding of practice-based/practice-led research
  * A commitment to interdisciplinarity
  * Ability to liaise with multiple authors professionally
  * Strong editorial/proof-reading skills
  * Good social media skills
  * Expertise with Wix websites is desirable but not essential

Championing critical rigour and creative reflection, IJCMR specialises in capturing the emerging tools, approaches and methods of practice-based and practice-led research. The journal publishes original screen-based, sound-based, time-based and experiential forms of creative media research, spanning works of film, music, media art, creative and digital writing, curation practice, multi-platform and ludic artefacts that contribute to fields across Media and Game Studies, Communication and Cultural Studies, Art and Design, Music, Creative Writing, Drama, Dance, Performing Arts, Film and Screen Studies, or Education. International in scope, the journal’s editorial board includes artists, scholars, writers, musicians, performers, technologists, designers, filmmakers and educators.

You will be joining the IJCMR editorial team: Co-Editor Matthew Freeman, Co-Editor Charlie Tweed and Co-Editor James Newman, all based at Bath Spa University.

Like all of the editorial team, this is an unpaid role.
