6th International Symposium "Fusion on Film”

The 6th edition of the International Symposium “Fusões no Cinema” 
(“Fusion on Film”), happening on November 26th and 27th, in Coimbra and 
Ponte de Lima (Portugal), aims to explore the dynamics of the relations 
between two major fields in film studies: art and education.

This international event, is, since 2015, organized by Caminhos do 
Cinema Português, in partnership with Universidade Aberta (UAb), also 
having the University of Coimbra (UC) and LIPA - Laboratório de 
Investigação e Práticas Artísticas (Laboratory of Arts Investigation and 
Practices) of the University of Coimbra, as partners.

In this Symposium, cinema will be subject to a double look: as an 
art-synthesis; and, as a material to other arts, such as literature. 
Film will also be treated as a means and pedagogical tool, in a context 
where distance learning and teleworking have become crucial structures 
for the society we live in. In short, it will serve as a space for 
reflection on the artistic and educational role of cinema.

The Symposium is aimed at the general public, to those who are 
interested in the subject of film, and all agents involved in the field 
of art, education and culture. Our invitation is especially directed to 
all educators and teachers who use Film as an educational tool in their 
classes.

Caminhos and Universidade Aberta (UAb) are accepting proposals for paper 
abstracts, in portuguese, english or spanish (Castilian), that do not 
exceed 500 words, in the themes regarding relations between Film, 
Education and the Arts. All proposals will be subject to a double peer 
review, and the most relevant papers will be presented at the Symposium, 
published in the scientific journal “Fusões no Cinema” (“Fusion on 
Film”) (ISSN 2184-805X).

The scientific journal  also will be accepting articles regarding 
cinephilia, with reviews on film and film literature, and technical 
articles, highlighting production methods and technology’s contribution 
in film production.

INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOLLOWED WHEN SUBMITTING PAPERS

In the article’s abstract you must fulfill the following requirements:

  *
    Title in portuguese, spanish or english;
  *
    Author(s)’ Identification;
  *
    Identification of the institution to which it belongs and their
    nationality;
  *
    Abstract up to 500 words, in portuguese, spanish (castilian) and
    english;
  *
    Five keywords in the chosen language;


If the proposal is accepted, the author must develop his article with a 
text body between 20.000 and 50.000 characters (including line spacing), 
written in one of the three following languages: portuguese, spanish 
(castilian) or english;

  *
    The format to be used should be 'doc'; 'docx'; 'rtf';
  *
    Images and tables should be sent in 'jpg' format,  with a 300 dpi
    resolution, or alternatively vector formats;
  *
    The images should be sent in low resolution in a Word file, and
    separately with the file name, with the corresponding caption of the
    Word file;
  *
    The bibliographical references must respect the APA Style - 6th 
Edition.

VI Simpósio Internacional “Fusões no Cinema”

  A 6ª edição do Simpósio Internacional “Fusões no Cinema”, a decorrer 
nos dias 20, 21 em Ponte de Lima e 27 e 28 em Coimbra, pretende explorar 
as dinâmicas da relação entre dois vetores de estudo do cinema: a arte e 
a educação.

O evento, de cariz internacional, é, desde 2015, organizado pelo 
Caminhos do Cinema Português, em parceria com a Universidade Aberta 
(UAb), contando ainda como parceiros a Universidade de Coimbra (UC) e o 
LIPA - Laboratório de Investigação e Práticas Artísticas da Universidade 
de Coimbra.

Neste Simpósio, o cinema será objeto de um duplo olhar: como 
arte-síntese; e, como materialidade de outras artes, como, por exemplo, 
a literatura. O cinema será ainda tratado como meio e ferramenta 
pedagógica, num contexto em que o ensino à distância e o teletrabalho 
tornaram-se estruturas cruciais para a sociedade em que vivemos. Em 
suma, servirá como um espaço de reflexão sobre o papel artístico e 
educativo do cinema.

O Simpósio destina-se ao público em geral, que tenha particular 
interesse na temática do cinema, e a todos agentes envolvidos no campo 
da arte, da educação e da cultura. Convidam-se a assistir todos os 
cinéfilos especialmente os educadores e docentes que usam 
pedagogicamente o cinema nas suas aulas.

Os Cami­nhos e a Uni­ver­si­dade Aberta (UAb) estão a aceitar propostas 
de  resumos de comu­ni­ca­ção, em por­tu­guês, inglês ou espanhol 
(cas­te­lhano), que não exce­dam as 500 palavras, nas temáticas da 
relação do Cinema com a Educação e as Artes. Todas as propostas serão 
alvo de dupla revisão por pares, sendo que as comunicações mais 
relevantes apresentadas no simpósio terão publicação na revista 
científica Fusões no Cinema (ISSN 2184-805X).

No âmbito da revista são ainda aceites artigos de cinefilia, com 
recensões críticas sobre filmes e literatura fílmica, e artigos 
técnicos, colocando em evidência métodos de produção e o contributo 
tecnológico na produção de cinema.

Os custos de participação cifram-se nos 100€ para os autores (70€ 
early-bird até 6 de Novembro) e para o público

INSTRUÇÕES PARA A SUBMISSÃO DE ARTIGOS

No resumo da proposta de artigo deverá pre­en­cher os seguin­tes requisitos:

    Título em por­tu­guês ou espanhol (cas­te­lhano), e inglês;
  *
    Iden­ti­fi­ca­ção do(s) autor(es);
  *
    Iden­ti­fi­ca­ção da ins­ti­tui­ção a que per­tence e res­pe­tiva
    nacionalidade;
  *
    Resumo até 500 palavras em por­tu­guês,  espanhol (cas­te­lhano) e
    inglês;
  *
    Cinco pala­vras-chave na lín­gua escolhida;


Se a proposta for aceite, o autor deverá desenvolver o seu artigo com o 
corpo de texto  entre 20.000 e 50.000 carac­te­res (incluindo 
espaçamento), sendo escrito numa das três lín­guas de trabalho 
(por­tu­guês, espanhol (cas­te­lhano) ou inglês):

    O for­mato a uti­li­zar deverá ser o ​‘doc’; ​‘docx’; ​‘rtf’;
  *
    As ima­gens e tabe­las devem ser envi­a­das em ​‘jpg’ com 300 dpi de

    docu­mento Word e separadamente com o nome de ficheiro com a legenda
