*JCMR Releases Vol. 12, No. 2, October 2020 edition – 25^th Issue*

We are pleased to announce the release of Volume 12, Number 2, October 2020 edition of the /Journal of Communication and Media Research/ (JCMR) which is the journal’s 25^th issue since it started publication in 2009. Every issue has been released regularly and on schedule in April and October of every year.

The Volume 12, Number 2, October 2020 issue focuses on *Behaviour Change Communication, **News Reportage & Framing, Social Media Use, Video & Film.* The issue contains 15 articles written by 28 authors (24 from Nigeria, one from the United States of America, one from Sierra Leone, and two from Zimbabwe.  Soft copies in PDF are being sent to contributors through email while complimentary print copies will be sent by surface mail. The online versions of the abstracts and full articles are also being uploaded onto our website: www.jcmrjournal.org <http://www.jcmrjournal.org>. Interested readers are free to order for either the print version or the PDF copies or both.

We also wish to remind you that it is just *three weeks* to the end of submission of manuscripts for the *Volume 13 Number 1, April 2021* issue of the journal. The window of the Call for Papers for this issue which has been open since July 29, 2020, will close on October 24, 2020. *Jeffres,* Leo W. (Ph.D., University of Minnesota, 1976) is Professor Emeritus in the School of Communication at Cleveland State University.  He is the author of four books, including Mass Media Processes (1994), Mass Media Effects (1997), and Urban Communication Systems: Neighborhoods and the Search for Community (2002), as well as more than a hundred journal articles.  Most recently he has developed an inventory of communication resources for communities and conducted research on "communication capital."

*_SIERRA LEONE_*

*Sowa*, Francis, Ph.D., is a lecturer at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, Sierra Leone. He is a researcher, writer, columnist, and social and political analyst. His research interests are strategic media management, media law and regulation, media and peacebuilding, human rights and elections and governance.

*_ZIMBABWE_*

*Chapanga*, Evans is a PhD candidate in the University of Free State in South Africa, and a lecturer in the Department of Linguistics, University of Zimbabwe, Mount Pleasant, Harare, Zimbabwe. He has designed, developed, taught and examined academic and professional communication skills courses in various faculties of UZ, since his appointment in 2003. His research interests are generally within the broad area of linguistics, precisely text and discourse analysis.

*Mukenge*, Clemenciana is a PhD candidate in the Department of Linguistics, University of Zimbabwe, Mount Pleasant, Harare, Zimbabwe. and a lecturer of Communication Skills in the same department. Her research interests are: HIV and AIDS Communication; New Media; Language and Media; and English as a Second Language.

*Ajaero*, Ijeoma Dorathy, Ph.D., is a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She does research in social media, environmental and health communication, and media sociology.

*Akoja*, Mofoluke Ibidunni, Ph.D., is a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria. She is interested in print journalism, development communication as well as studies on advertising effects.

*      Akpunne*, Bede Chinonye, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Behavioural Studies (Psychology Programme), Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State, Nigeria. He has a background in Social Work and Clinical Psychology. His research areas of interest include but are not limited to Problematic smartphone Use, Adolescent Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychopathology among varied groups.

*                        Aliagan*, Isiaka Zubair, PhD., is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, College of Information and Communication Technology, Kwara State University, Malete, Kwara State, Nigeria. His research interest covers print journalism, new media, press & politics, and political economy of media.

*Amobi*, Ifeoma Theresa, Ph.D. is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. An ERASMUS+ scholar, her areas of research include Health Communication (Health Misinformation/Disinformation); Multimedia and Online Journalism; Broadcast Journalism; Film, Gender and Power Relations; and International Communication. Dr. Amobi was a faculty member of the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa, and a current member of the Advisory Board of AfricaCheck, Fullfact and Chequeado fact-checking organizations.**

*Doghudje*, Roselyn Vona, M.PhiL., a Reverend Sister, is a technical lecturer of broadcast media production in the Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

*Elegbe*, Olugbenga, Ph.D., ,is a Senior Lecturer of applied communication in the Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria His research focuses  on Broadcast Media Production and Film studies.

*Ismail*, Adegboyega Ibraheem, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria.

*Jiboku*, Morolake Eniola is a graduate of the Department of Mass Communication, Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria. She is interested in political communication contemporary media studies , creative writing and broadcasting.

*Kabir*, Alabi Garba is the Weekend Editor of Guardian Newspapers Limited, Rutam House, Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Isolo, Lagos, Nigeria.

*Kur*, Jude Terna, Ph.D., is a Professor of Information and Media Technology and the current Head of the Department of Information and Media Technology at Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. His areas of research interest are parental mediation, ICTs and new media, and broadcast media.

*Lazarus*, Queen Mabel is a graduate of the Department of Information and Media Technology, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. Her area of research interest is media technologies and their impact on society.

*Mbamalu*, Marcel, Ph.D., is Deputy News Editor, The Guardian Newspapers Limited, Isolo, Lagos. His research interest is in media analysis and health communication.

*Melladu*, Bernard Bem, Ph.D, is a lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria but currently on leave of absence to Benue State Government as the Executive Chairman of Benue State Local Government Service Commission, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. His research interests are in public relations, communication and society, organizational communication, and development communication.

*Nwachukwu*, Chidiebere Alozie, Ph.D., is a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His research interests span health and population communication, conflict reporting, communication and media studies.

*Nwogbo*, Victor is a**Lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His research interest is in media writing, media sociology and news editing.

*Nwosu*, Chukwuma L., Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Federal University of Lokoja, Kogi State. His research interest is in specialised writings, development communication, journalism education and health communication.

*Olanrewaju*, Elizabeth A. is a research fellow at the Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Her research interest is in media analysis and communication advocacy.

*Olugboji*, Femi, Ph.D. is a  lecturer in the School of Communication, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria. His areas of academic interests/specialisation are Media Studies/Arts, Criticism, Theatre and Film Studies. He is also a creative writer in the areas of prose, poetry and drama.

*Onwunali*, Charles Chinedu, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. His research interests include Advertising and Consumer Rights Protection, Communication and Gender Empowerment and Political Communication.

*Shaibu*, Husseini Hassan, Ph.D., is a Teaching Fellow at the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria and Head of Public Relations and Media at the National Troupe of Nigeria (NTN), a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture. He has considerable industry experience in Culture and Film Journalism, Broadcasting, Film Production Management and in Public Relations and Advertising. His research interest is in the evaluation of the power structure and economics of motion picture production in Nigeria.

*Soremi*, Taiwo Olamide is a graduate of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. She graduated as one of the best graduating students of the 2017/2018 set.

*Ukonu*, Michael O., Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His research interest is in ICT, media analysis and criticism, media sociology and health communication.

*      Uzonwanne*, Francis Chukwuemeka, Ph.D. is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Behavioural Studies (Psychology Programme), Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State. He has a background in Guidance and Counseling and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. His research areas of interest include but are not limited to Organizational Psychology Studies, Leadership Styles, Decision Making, Occupational Behaviour.
