[Commlist] Vacancy for Researchers @ JRC in Seville for project "Social Classes in the Digital Age"

The Seville site of the European Commission´s Joint Research Center is going to host a new project on* Social Classes in the Digital Age *at the Centre for Advanced Studies. The main goal of this project will be to update the Social Sciences concept of Social Class to the new economic realities of the Digital Age, operationalise it into a set of analytical tools such as new class taxonomies, and apply them to contemporary phenomena such as the decline of the middle class and job polarisation, the effects of digital technologies on inequalities and life chances or the emergence of new types of economic relations. This project will be integrated in the Employment and Skills team of the Human Capital and Employment Unit of the JRC (for more details on our recent work, see https://ideas.repec.org/s/ipt/laedte.html <https://ideas.repec.org/s/ipt/laedte.html> and https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/facts4eufuture/changing-nature-work-skills-digital-age <https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/facts4eufuture/changing-nature-work-skills-digital-age>), and collaborate closely with other JRC projects and units, such as HUMAINT (https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/communities/en/community/humaint <https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/communities/en/community/humaint>) and the Digital Economy and Knowledge for Growth units. The JRC is recruiting three researchers to work on this new center from the end of the year, with a full-time research contract of three years renewable for a further three-year period. All of the positions are for Social Scientists, though with slightly different profiles: a Labour Economist, a Social Scientist and a Political Scientist/Political Economist.
