*Creative Methods in Educational Research: Exploring Approaches from Art, Design and Media.*

Mon 16 December

09.30am – 4.30pm

London College of Communication, Elephant & Castle

Arts-based research methods are gradually growing in popularity within the field of educational research. We suggest that those of us working in art schools are well-placed to harness our disciplinary practice-based tools of making when we investigate our teaching and learning contexts, cultures and conundrums.

This one day event brings together people playing with these ideas to ask:

·What might be gained from turning the creative lens onto creative education?

  * What is a “creative” research method?

·What might a co-produced sensory ethnography of the contemporary art, design and media school look like?

·What can performance, art, design, media offer as research tools for education?

·What are the ethical implications of these modes of research?

This event is part of the UAL Teaching Platform series. It is a collaboration between the Centre for Excellence in Media Practice <https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cemp.ac.uk%2F&data=02%7C01%7Cjmcdougall%40BOURNEMOUTH.AC.UK%7C16c3b8c248ce4046637408d756e088ad%7Cede29655d09742e4bbb5f38d427fbfb8%7C0%7C1%7C637073394675224195&sdata=XaPWOx6ZQ%2F3dMJfYAyTSQPAkc5uW9LrDh2uxmurTirs%3D&reserved=0> at the University of Bournemouth and the Exchange <https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.arts.ac.uk%2Fabout-ual%2Fteaching-and-learning-exchange&data=02%7C01%7Cjmcdougall%40BOURNEMOUTH.AC.UK%7C16c3b8c248ce4046637408d756e088ad%7Cede29655d09742e4bbb5f38d427fbfb8%7C0%7C1%7C637073394675234193&sdata=kAsK1yo9e%2BC86OffVD8L7TWdbRhrWeDeFweXNzw9BHk%3D&reserved=0> at University of the Arts London.
