*Professor in Experience Economy at Aarhus University, Denmark *

The School of Communication and Culture, Aarhus University invites applications for the position of professor in experience economy. The position is full-time and based at the Department of Scandinavian Studies and Experience Economy, Jens Chr. Skous Vej 2, 8000 Aarhus C. The appointment is tenured and begins on June 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The School of Communication and Culture is committed to diversity and welcomes applications from all candidates regardless of their personal background.

*The position*
The position of professor in experience economy is being advertised with a view to attracting an applicant with a considerable international research record as well as teaching and supervision qualifications related to the field. The teaching and research related to the position of professor in experience economy focuses on the value of experiences in contemporary society. The successful applicant will play an important role in the ongoing development of innovative and internationally recognised research in experience economy at the department. Consequently, the successful applicant is expected to promote the status of research in experience economy not only at the Department of Scandinavian Studies and Experience Economy but also more widely at the Faculty of Arts. In addition, she/he will be expected to contribute to and provide leadership in relation to tasks and responsibilities in Aarhus University’s core activities in the areas of research, teaching and supervision, talent development and knowledge exchange.


*Research*
The successful applicant must have extensive, thoroughly documented international research experience at the highest level in relevant aspects and disciplines related to the experience economy (e.g. heritage studies, cultural economy, human geography, interaction design, media and information studies, aesthetics or cultural studies), and will be expected to develop new research projects with both internal and external partners and to energetically apply for and attain external research funding, including European funding. The successful applicant must provide a 3- to 5-year research plan and explain her/his vision for how she/he will contribute to the development of experience economy as a strategic research area for Aarhus University. This vision must contain a description of both local and international collaboration, as well as a description of how the School of Communication and Culture can benefit from this plan. Finally, we seek an applicant who is able to strengthen the collaboration with other national and international research institutions, as well as with other relevant disciplines.
