Con el fin de impulsar el cumplimiento de los objetivos de la Red 
Mundial de Universidades UNESCO UniTWIN en Género, Medios y TIC 
(Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación), este número está 
dedicado a difundir la investigación, docencia y difusión en igualdad de 
género, medios de comunicación y nuevas tecnologías, en los artículos 
escritos por las académicas que la integran. Se trata de textos que 
asumen los dos principios de la investigación feminista: es científica 
al tiempo que política, pues busca transformar las condiciones sociales 
para alcanzar la igualdad de género. Estos trabajos muestran la 
naturaleza holística de la agenda feminista en comunicación, e invitan a 
aprovechar las posibilidades de la Red para impulsar la igualdad de 
género y los derechos humanos de las mujeres y las niñas.
