- Two tenure-track positions in the Department of Communication at the

The Département de communication is seeking applications for two
full-time tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in
Communication from candidates specializing in one or more of the
following areas:
-- Social media studies, digital platforms and networked publics,
especially as these intersect with studies of participative culture,
mobile culture, digital activism, online interaction and collaboration,
new forms of communities associated with network technologies, and/or
algorithmic publics and new forms of digital sociability.
-- Digital creation, especially studies and practices of visual culture,
new forms of digital storytelling/narration (podcasts, web documentary,
etc.), design of user interfaces and experiences, and/or visualization
of information and data.
-- Journalism studies, especially in the areas of digital and
multiplatform journalism, investigative and data journalism, and/or
alternative media.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidates will be expected to teach at
all three levels of the curriculum, supervise graduate students, engage
in ongoing research and publication, and contribute to the academic life
and reputation of the University.
REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. (or near completion) in Communication or a related
field; Strong research record; University teaching experience; An
adequate knowledge of the French language (written and spoken) or a
strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required*.

Starting date: On or after August 1st, 2019

Three letters of recommendation should also be sent directly to the
Department Chair by the referees.
