The Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (GEI),
member of the Leibniz Association, in Braunschweig, Germany, is seeking
to employ one full-time postdoctoral research fellow and one PhD
researcher in the BMBF-funded "DATAFIED - DATA For and In EDucation"
project.
The Postdoc (3 + 3 years) will design an independent research project
exploring, e.g., the socio-political implications of learning software,
algorithimisation or data practices in education, and will coordinate
data collection and analysis in the DATAFIED project across four
institutional partners (GEI, ifib, DIPF, HSU).
The PhD researcher (3 years) will examine the materiality and discourse
of (personalized/adaptive) learning software, and explore the software
providers' data practices.
We welcome applicants from a range of disciplines and are especially
interested in candidates who bring expertise in software studies,
critical data studies and/or critical approaches to educational
technology to the project. Candidates should understand basic German.
