EaP eDemocracy Conference: Politics in the Digital Age

The Danube University Krems, Department for E-Governance, and the Tallinn University of Technology, Ragnar Nurkse Department of Innovation and Governance, will be hosting the EU’s Eastern Partnership eDemocracy Conference on ‘Politics in the Digital Age’ under the auspices of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

There will be 3 thematic panels, each preceded by a keynote:

Panel 1 “Political Communication in the Digital Sphere: media manipulation, influence on third countries, populism on platforms, and campaigning”
Keynote: Rasto Kuzel  – MEMO98, Slovakia

Panel 2 “Digital Transparency for Accountability”
Keynote: tbc

Panel 3 “Inclusion: Stakeholder Involvement in the Political Sphere"
Keynote: Elke Löffler – Governance International, UK & Institute of Local Government, University of Birmingham

The eDemocracy Conference brings together participants from EaP Partner Countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) and EU Member States to discuss how eDemocracy can enhance participation, inclusion, transparency and accountability. This event allows experts from academia, governments, think-tanks and civil society to discuss ideas, opportunities as well as address the challenges of eDemocracy: participation, inclusion, transparency and accountability.
