The Department of Media and Communication (University of Oslo-UiO) is 
hiring an Associate Professor in Media Studies. The  deadline for 
applying: 27 June 2018.
This is a permanent position associated with the Project Screen 
Cultures.  Screen Cultures is an interdisciplinary, teaching-driven 
project centered around an international MA program starting during the 
autumn 2019. The project is led by Jon Inge Faldalen. Read more about

The applicants for this position must document expertise relevant to one 
or more of the five following teaching and research areas as defined in 
the project description; Screen histories, Screen aesthetics, Screen 
theories, Screen technologies, and/or Screen politics. The successful 
candidate will be responsible for one of the teaching and research 
clusters, initiating, planning and conducting individual and 
collaborative teaching and research within this. The applicant must 
document significant teaching experience and be prepared to take the 
initiative to develop applications for external funding. The successful 
candidate will be expected to carry out PhD and MA supervision and 
administrative duties in accordance with the needs of the Department of 
Media and Communication.
The Department of Media and Communication (UiO) is a multidisciplinary 
department, based on the academic traditions of the humanities and 
social sciences. The Department is ranked as one of the top 50 media and 
communication departments in the world (QS Ratings).
Expected starting date: 1 August 2019
