The School of Communication and Culture invites applications for the position of assistant professor (adjunkt) with particular emphasis on the analysis of media texts in a digital context. The position is based at the Department of Media and Journalism Studies, which is part of the School of Communication and Culture.

The position of assistant professor is a three-year training position, after which there will be an opportunity to apply for a subsequent associate professorship. The appointment begins on 15 November 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

*The position*
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated researcher and teacher and are therefore inviting applications for a position as assistant professor (adjunkt) in media textual analysis with particular emphasis on the analysis of media texts in a digital context.

A position as assistant professor includes tasks and responsibilities in all of Aarhus University’s core activities within the areas of research, teaching and supervision, talent development and knowledge exchange.

*Research*
Applicants must submit publications that document research results at an international level and demonstrate strong methodological competencies in analysing media texts in a digital context. In addition to this, preference will be given to candidates whose work relates to one or more of the following:

• cross-/transmedia or cross-platform analysis
• genre studies
• user-generated content
• networked communication, for instance online conversation analysis or network analysis with respect to online communities, social media practices, shared and viral content etc.
