We are looking to recruit a full-time Post-Doctoral Research Associate (for one year starting in September 2018 or soon thereafter) to work on an AHRC-funded project entitled: /A quiet revolution: Discursive representation of non-heteronormative sexuality in Russia/.

Working at the School of Journalism Media and Culture (JOMEC), Cardiff University, UK you will be conducting and contributing to ground-breaking research. We are therefore seeking applications from ambitious, highly motivated and talented individuals who will be keen to play an active role in maintaining and enhancing the international reputation for research at JOMEC.

The research project focusses on a range of media discourses on non-heteronormative sexuality in post-Soviet Russia(1999-2019) with a view to develop a set of academic outputs and policy recommendations, which can be used by academics and practitioners in the UK, Europe and Russia. The project presupposes a range of outreach events, which contribute to academic network building and wider public understanding of the issue.

You will hold a PhD in a relevant area or equivalent qualifications, have an in-depth understanding of Russian history, culture and media and experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. Native or near-native knowledge of Russian and English language is essential.
