Fri Mar 23 08:13:58 GMT 2018

 Tamara Tanso <(tamara.tanso /at/ sagepub.com)>

I am the editor for the forthcoming 5-volume book, “The SAGE International Encyclopedia of Mass Media and Society.” This encyclopedia will examine media around the world in its varied forms—newspapers, magazines, radio, television, film, books, music, websites, social media, mobile media—and describe the role of each in both mirroring and shaping society. The role of media in society will be explored from international, multidisciplinary, and theoretical perspectives in more than 850 articles. The encyclopedia draws upon research from communication and media studies, sociology, anthropology, social psychology, politics, and business.

Below is a list of available headwords/topics for the encyclopedia, all of which are currently in need of author experts to write them. If your interest is piqued and you would like to know more about the project (and potentially join us), please email Tamara Tanso ((tamara.tanso /at/ sagepub.com)<mailto:(tamara.tanso /at/ sagepub.com)>) <https://red.comunica.org:2096/cpsess2445754849/horde/imp/dynamic.php?page=mailbox#> at SAGE Publishing for more information. Furthermore, we are open to suggestions regarding additional headwords and topics, so feel free to provide those and any author recommendations you might have as well.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Debra Merskin, Ph.D.
