Call for Proposals

The Onlooker Sees: Studies on the Chinese Video Game Industry

Edited by Feng Chen, Ken McAllister, and Judd Ruggill

We are seeking original essays for an edited collection designed to
help introduce and analyze the Chinese video game industry.
Specifically, we are interested in work that focuses on areas common
to both game development and studies: the history, economics, and
organization of the industry; industrial law and policy; studies of
formal game development education; and analyses of the various
cultures that flow from and contribute to the industry. Proposals
outside of these areas of concentration but still related to the
overall theme of the book are also welcome.

Proposals of 500 words and a brief biography are due May 1, 2018.
Completed essays of 5000 - 7000 words will be due January 1, 2019.

For more information or to submit a proposal, please contact Feng Chen
