Wed Jan 17 22:07:19 GMT 2018

The Amsterdam Privacy Conference will take place on 5-8 October 2018 in the heart of Amsterdam. The goal of the conference is to bring together academics, policy makers, journalists, and practitioners to promote active discussion on timely topics. We welcome contributions from diverse fields, including philosophy, law, economics, computer science, medicine, media and communication studies and social sciences. APC 2018 is organised by the Amsterdam Platform for Privacy Research (APPR), a network of researchers from different disciplines at the University of Amsterdam. APC 2018 is the follow-up to the successful conferences APC 2015 and APC 2012. The organisers invite you to submit a paper abstract or panel proposal on any of the ten conference themes:

1. The digital society and surveillance
2. Data commodification and business opportunities
3. Smart healthcare, homes and cities
4. The regulation of the information society
5. Personalized communication and behavioural engineering
6. Privacy and democracy
7. The value of privacy
8. Discrimination, inequality and immigration
9. Responsibility and control
10. Privacy enhancing technologies and encryption

The deadline for a paper abstract or panel proposal is 15 March 2018 (1000 words).

Please check the call for papers at the conference website for all submission requirements: We are looking forward to receiving your abstracts and proposals and seeing you in Amsterdam this Fall!
