Introduction
The book will explore the relationship between project management principles and methods under the phenomena of emerging technologies introduction. From theoretical and practical points of view, specially observing the context of projects that proposes innovations for firms and markets, this book will encompass academic and scientific propositions, reviews for conceptual bases, application of theories in new market solutions and cases of successful insertion of disruptive technologies and business models, regarded as management technologies, in new businesses propositions and new competitive market offers and players design.

This relationship is critical nowadays, as the overall demand for innovation is becoming more critical for competitiveness and emerging technologies - supported by themes like big data, analytics, internet of things, cognitive computing, new business models (such as marketplaces, scarcity and repetitive demand models), etc. – became real alternatives for the market, as for example, encompassing Industry 4.0 choices, offering new perspectives for modern project management application.

The interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches are the scientific guideline for this project, as all scientific, academic and managerial fields advance in turbulent directions. This way, a book like this one can contribute for both a theoretical leverage and as an orientation on how to methodologically learn from study cases ("best practices", case studies, and so forth).

One important aspect to be addressed, is the information and knowledge management theories, resources and practical applications for project management, which evolved expressively, since the launching of the Handbook of research on effective project management through integration of knowledge and innovation, in 2015 by IGI Global publishers. Now, all the modern trends on technology and business alternatives, from supported theory and assessed cases bring new comprehension and horizons for project management context.

This book will be structured in two major sections:
Section I - Theoretical background: an interdisciplinary approach for project management in modern times This section will evaluate the theoretical basis for project management, under offer and emergence of new technologies, trends in information and knowledge management research and its perspectives of relationship as interdisciplinary propositions.

Chapters accepted for this section will discuss theoretical issues, background formation, analytical modelling for PM + IM + KM to be applied in real situations, etc. to promote a documentation, review or predictions around the scientific field evolution, considering the new technological perspectives.

Section II - Case studies of new trends on project management and new technologies trend This section would discuss real cases, proposals, implementations and competitive scenario analysis involving products, processes, industry cases, professional formation, marketing and strategy relationships, etc.

Here, for example, we have the arena to discuss big data and analytics applied to marketing decisions and research, introduction of Industry 4.0 in sector and business operations design, application of IoT for healthcare, logistics, entertainment and services implementations, cases of cognitive computing, among several others. Along with the theoretical review in the first section, readers will have a supportive base of conceptual base for better comprehension and learning from these cases.

Objective
• Promote and advance a study about applied Project Management, reviewing it from new technologies perspectives. • Level the comprehension on new technologies to be applied for project management innovations. • Study and advance the association of information and knowledge contribution for project management. • Discuss with more depth cases on how the emergent technologies are being planned, thought, applied and produced to offer a new project management perspective, from the rationale, formulation to effective project implementation.
• Exercise methodological approach for project management research.
• Contribute with other areas such as information technology, business management (Financial, Logistics, Human Resources, Technology, etc.), innovation management, startups processes, review for project management basic theoretical background.

Target Audience
Project management professionals related to PM practices in all levels and sectors. Practitioners and scholars of innovation management; Practitioners and scholars of information and knowledge management, mainly those from fields of Information Science; Marketing and Strategy professionals and scholars; Professionals and scholars of managerial sciences areas, such as Administration and other professionals in areas that have perspective to be involved in project management.

The book will be written and composed observing the perspectives for methodological approaches in interdisciplinary studies about innovation associated to technological trends and businesses management. This proposition ensures also a perspective for the results, the final text of the book, to be applied in both theoretical and practical exercises and researches.
