Two Postdoc Positions in Political Communication / Political Psychology / Computational Methods (100% each, 3 years) at the University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany) and the University of Bern (Switzerland)
Deadline: January 20th, 2019



At the Institute of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Bern (Switzerland, Prof. Silke Adam) the following position is available
Post-doc position (100%, SNF)

starting on April 1st, 2019 (or by agreement) for a period of three years (36 months). The position will serve the joint research project with the University of Koblenz-Landau (Prof. Michaela Maier, see next page for the second post-doc position in Landau) "Reciprocal relations between populist radical-right attitudes and political information behavior: A longitudinal study of attitude development in high-choice information environments" funded by SNF and DFG as well as the individual scientific qualification of the candidate.

Main Tasks:
Within the project, the Berne-position will take the lead in the following tasks: - Cooperation with programmers as regards the development of a tracking tool for online information behavior; Preparation and supervision of media usage tracking
-	Automated content analyses
-	Data management and data fusion of survey and content analyses data
-	Development of questionnaire
- Production of high-quality research output (e.g. peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations)
Involvement in all other project tasks is strongly supported.
Employment qualifications:
- Excellent Ph.D. in communication science, a related social science discipline, psychology or informatics - Strong interest in political online communication, media usage and media effects - Very good skills in empirical social science methods (esp. survey and content analyses)
-	Very good English skills
-	Motivation for team work, high organizational and communicative skills
-	Publication and project experience are advantageous for these positions

Post-Doctoral Researcher (100% EGr. 13 TV-L)

starting on April 1st 2019 (or by agreement) for a period of three years (36 months). The position will serve the joint research project with the University of Bern (Prof. Silke Adam) "Reciprocal relations between populist radical-right attitudes and political information behavior: A longitudinal study of attitude development in high-choice information environments" funded by DFG and SNF as well as the individual scientific qualification of the candidate.
Main Tasks:
Within the project, the Landau-position will take the lead in the following tasks:
- 	Measurement of explicit and implicit populist radical right attitudes
- Preparation and supervision of the surveys in cooperation with a market research institute - Manual content analysis - Production of high-quality research output (e.g. peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations)
Involvement in all other project tasks is strongly supported.
