[ecrea] Two lecturer posts in Digital Media and Society (1 fixed-term) @ University of Sheffield

The Department of Sociological Studies wishes to recruit a permanent 
Lecturer in Digital Media and Society and a fixed-term Lecturer in 
Digital Media and Society for 24 months, both posts starting on 1 
September 2018.

Successful candidates will play a key role in contributing to the 
Department’s portfolio, maintaining its high standards of teaching 
through delivering modules in Digital Media and Society on BA and MA 
programmes in this area. You will have an interest in how the digital 
relates to core social issues, for example, identity, inequality, 
everyday life, work, the life course.

You will teach or run modules in some (but not all) of the following 
areas at BA or MA level:

  * Researching Digital Society
  * Digital Methods
  * Visual Methods
  * Digital Identity
  * Social Media and Society
  * Media Studies
  * Digital Media and Society Work Placement

You will be expected to make a contribution to undergraduate and MA 
dissertation supervision as appropriate.

You will have a PhD in relevant discipline.  Expertise in Digital Media 
and Society and experience of teaching in the subject area, ideally at 
both undergraduate and postgraduate level, is essential. You will have a 
growing record of quality research publications and will develop your 
research profile in line with the Departmental Research Strategy, 
through personal research, applying for research funding, and 
supervising research students. You will also take on a Departmental 
administrative role.
