[ecrea] Job: Assistant Professor in Communication x 2 (University of Canberra, Australia)

The University of Canberra is seeking two Level B/C Assistant Professors 
in Communication to become leaders in teaching and research in the field 
of Communication and Media Studies with specialisations in either 
Strategic or Marketing Communication or related fields.

Reporting to the Head of School, Arts and Communication, the Assistant 
Professor in Communication will be responsible for the design, 
development, delivery and coordination of curriculum, programs of study 
and work integrated learning opportunities at the undergraduate level. 
As a successful applicant, you will be an experienced teacher within the 
converging field of communications and its use of digital strategies.  
You will also be an active researcher with a track record in publication 
in research fields that are aligned with the News & Media Research 
Centre’s research priorities. Areas of expertise in Public Relations, 
Digital Communication, or Strategic Marketing with research track record 
within Digital Methods, Digital Culture, Political Communications, Media 
Studies and Public Affairs will be well regarded.

Essentially, as the successful applicant, you must hold academic 
qualifications at the doctoral level in Communication and Media or 
related fields. You will also utilise your strong interpersonal skills 
to develop links with relevant domestic and international stakeholders 
in the communication and media industries in the Nation’s capital and 
beyond.  Your ability to establish links with national and international 
scholarly communities, as well as to engage and develop strategic 
relationships with key stakeholders and to represent and promote the 
Faculty in the University, as well as in the broader community, 
including industry, government and professional bodies will be critical 
to your success of this role.
