Aberystwyth University's AberDoc PhD scholarship scheme offers a package
of research and training for full-time PhD students. These awards are
tailored to enable students to develop the necessary skills required to
meet their career choices and offer a breadth of development
opportunities to enhance their research, teaching and transferable
skills.The competition for these prestigious AberDoc scholarships is now
open to students who wish to study for a full-time PhD commencing in
September 2018.
*Deadlines:*The Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies’
submission deadline for the 2018 competition is *26th January 2018*.
*Applying for a Scholarship*
The application to study for a PhD must be received by the closing date.
Decisions will be based on the application to study for a PhD.
Applications must include an application form, two academic references,
academic transcripts and a research proposal (1000 to 1500 words).
Applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Kate Egan, Departmental
Postgraduate Research Coordinator, email: (kte /at/ aber.ac).ukbefore
constructing their research proposal.
The results will be announced during the first week of May. Selection
for the above awards will be based on the application for admission,
including research proposal and two academic references. The regulations

The department has a substantial number of experienced, research-active
PhD supervisors, able to supervise projects across theatre and drama
studies, scenography, performance studies, media and communication
studies, and film and television studies, and spanning historical and
archival work, textual analysis, audience and reception research, policy
research and practice as research. We offer supervision and research
training in both English and Welsh.
