CALL FOR PANELS for the
11th Central and Eastern European Communication and Media Conference - CEECOM 2018: Communicative Space - Political Space

DATES and PLACE
from 30 May to 1 June, 2018 in Szeged, Hungary.

ORGANIZERS
The conference is organized by the Department of Political Science and the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Szeged, Hungary, in cooperation with the ECREA Central and East European Network, the CEECOM Consortium and the ICA Political Communication Division.

KEY QUESTIONS
The focal point of the 11th CEECOM is the conceptual and practical application of space in communication, media studies, political sciences, and a broad range of social scientific disciplines (from cultural anthropology through geography to sociology). The conference addresses a diverse set of issues and will cover a wide spectrum of ideas related to ongoing changes and transformations of the concept of space. The organizers look forward to presentations in (but not limited to) the following focal areas of interest:

- Physical political spaces as communicative spaces

- General questions of mediatised spaces

- Social and control issues in politics and media

- Online / digital spaces

PANEL PROPOSALS (n.b. the start of paper proposals is on 15th December):
Panel proposals of maximum 500 words should include the rationale and title of proposed panel, name, email, and affiliation of the Chair/Moderator and up to five members of the panel, and brief abstracts (maximum 250 words) for each participant’s contribution. Please include names, emails and affiliations of panel participants in the same entry with their contributions.

Notification of acceptance (papers) and starting date of early-bird registration: February 15th, 2018

Early bird registration ends: March 30th, 2018

Registration deadline: April 30th, 2018

Start of conference: May 30th, 2018
