*_Mission_*

The Language and Communication Institute^^[i] <#_edn1> is looking to hire a Full-time Research Logistician (RL).**

As a research project manager, the RL will devote 50% of his/her time to developing the research component of the new Media Innovation & Intelligibility Lab (MIIL)^^[ii] <#_edn2>. The remaining 50% will be allocated equitably between the institute’s two research poles, provided that the services requested fall within the scope of media innovation and intelligibility.

The RL will report to the president of the institute. He/she will sit on the MIIL platform’s board of managers.

*_Function_*

1. He/she will ensure the development and the valorization of research:

  * By initiating and facilitating the set-up of externally-funded
    large-scale research projects in order to develop the MIIL platform;
  * By initiating and facilitating the set- up of projects for
    researchers from the institute’s two research poles;
  * Through administrative and financial management and monitoring of
    existing research projects;
  * By coordinating the projects and supporting the MIIL platform’s
    scientific service activities benefitting its users;
  * By developing tools and processes for researchers in communication
    studies and, more broadly, the platform’s user community;
  * By making the platform’s achievements viable and pooling resources
    between users.

2. Together with the operational manager of the MIIL platform, he/she will:

·Participate in consulting, training and support in the field of media innovation: provide his/her media skills, participate in the development and/or adaptation of resources and applications, supervise the use of specialized software within the framework of the intervention projects requested by the platform’s users;

·Contribute to the valorization of research results and scientific projects to which the platform has contributed.

3. Communication and monitoring:

He/she will:

  * Continue to monitor the field of media innovation and engage in
    independent learning;
  * Maintain a high level of expertise through personal involvement in
    research.

*_Required Qualifications and Skills_*

  * Ph.D.;
  * Proven experience in setting up large research projects;
* Specialization and high level of scientif expertise in media innovation;
  * Professional experience in project management developing information
    and communication applications and solutions (information
    processing, visualization and exploration tools for the purpose of
    understanding or  decision-making, etc.);
  * Scientific writing skills in French and English. Fluency in other
    languages would be desirable;
  * Programming skills are an asset;
  * Innovative flair and a talent for  industrial valorization (industry
    contacts, networking, ...);
  * Experience managing technical teams as well as scientific and
    industrial projects;
  * Team spirit is essential.

Its vocation is to promote innovation through its technological, academic and interdisciplinary dimension, open to collaborations with both private and public partners. It aims to respond adequately to the demands of the current media challenges by giving itself the means to mobilize media, IT, economic and legal skills, tailored to each individual project
