Research at Brunel University London

Oliver Double, Director of the Popular and Comic Performance Research 
Centre at the University of Kent

*Papers*

A selection of papers representing a combination of academic research 
and practice about comedy in the context of a range of representations 
including national, regional and gendered.

*Presentations and discussion*

Brett Mills, University of East Anglia and Evan Beswick, editor of Fest 
magazine begin our presentations and discussions of the value of comedy 
in the creative industries  with a focus on the Edinburgh Festival 
Fringe which celebrates its 70^th anniversary this year.
