The School of Histories, Languages and Cultures wishes to appoint two 
permanent, teaching and research lecturers in Hispanic Studies. These 
appointments represent a significant investment in Modern Languages at 
Liverpool and are framed with respect to the department’s ambitious 
future plans and reflect the strategic development of departmental, 
school, faculty and university research priorities.

You should have a PhD in Hispanic Studies or a relevant, related subject 
and a growing record of publications of international excellence. It is 
anticipated that we will appoint one lecturer with a specialism in Film 
Studies and one with a specialism in Linguistics. Of these two 
lecturers, one will be in Spanish and the other in Portuguese. Our 
strong preference in the latter case is for a lecturer able to teach 
Brazilian Portuguese.
