Fri May 12 23:09:32 GMT 2017

After selling out our inaugural event,
 we are
hosting a workshop at Boston University this May 31 - June 2, 2017 on social media analysis called "Making Social Media Matter: How to Analyze, Visualize & Interpret Social Networks in 3 Days."

In addition to covering the theoretical bases of working with and modeling big data, the training in this workshop will include access and use of leading data platforms, namely Crimson Hexagon, the Boston University Twitter Collection and Analysis Toolkit (BU-TCAT), and Gephi.

Please let me know any questions and share widely with colleagues, students, or professionals that might be interested to attend.

In summary, the tools demonstrated in this workshop for network analysis, geolocation, and machine learning are at the forefront of social media research and will equip attendees — even those with no computational training — with expert understanding of how to collect, analyze, visualize, and interpret social media data for internal and public use.

Media researchers, students, and anyone wanting to make sense of social media will benefit from attending this workshop. All participants that successfully complete this workshop will:

• Earn a Certificate in Social Media Analysis: Principals and Practices for Big Data from Boston University.

• Have free access for 3 weeks to the industry-leading the ForSight data analysis platform from Crimson Hexagon.

• Receive training in exclusive data analysis tools that can collect, analyze and visualize millions of units of social media content.

• Go beyond simple analytic dashboards and dive deep into data to take their analytic skills to the next level.

Again, please let me know any questions and share widely with colleagues, students, or professionals that might be interested to attend.

Space is limited, and registration is open at https://www.bu.edu/com/social-media-analysis/ <https://www.bu.edu/com/social-media-analysis/>
