*_POSITION_:*

The Department of Communication and Creative Arts, in the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences, Purdue University Northwest (PNW) seeks applicants for an academic year Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Mass Communication and Social Media, beginning Fall 2017. The primary appointment will be at the PNW Hammond campus with expectations to teach at the PNW Westville campus on an as needed basis. Opportunities are available to collaborate in research, teaching, and engagement with faculty members across all colleges on both campuses.

*_QUALIFICATIONS_:*

  * Ph. D. in Mass Communication, or related discipline, required.
  * A minimum of two years of teaching media-related courses at college
    level required.
  * An articulated research agenda required.
  * Proficiency in written and oral English, the language of
    instruction, required.

*_RESPONSIBILITIES_: *

  * Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mass communication,
    social media, media theory, media research, new media, and other
    courses as needed. __
  * Conduct scholarly research and/or creative activity in communication.__
  * Actively participate in department and university committee work and
    professional service.__
  * Frequent and extensive use of technology, including social media.
  * Collaborate with diverse faculty and staff.__

*_DEPARTMENT_:*

The Department of Communication & Creative Arts has 400 undergraduate majors and 40 graduate students in its M.A. program.   Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
