[ecrea] Radio Research Conference 2017
Tue Jan 31 13:49:32 GMT 2017
It is our pleasure to announce the call for papers for 5th ECREA Radio
Research Section Conference, 2017: Radio Relations which will be held in
Lublin, Poland (12-14 September 2017). Madalena, Tiziano and I hope you
will submit your abstracts and come to Lublin, the city of inspiration.
The historical city of Lublin is often called the capital of Eastern
Poland. In 2017 Lublin is celebrating its 700th anniversary of
municipal status. For ages it has been important cultural, educational
and trade centre on Poland’s map. In 1569 the Polish-Lithuanian Union
Treaty which started the Golden Age of multinational and multi-language
Poland was signed there. The reference to that event is still alive: in
past centuries the city was inhabited by Poles, Russians, Ukrainians,
Jews, Germans, Scots, Dutch, Italians, Turks, Armenians among others.
Nowadays it is a vivid and green place of numerous universities, where
students from all sides of the world choose to educate. Therefore, is
described as one of the youngest cities in the country. Lublin is the
host of the 5th ECREA Radio Research Section Conference after the
Limassol (Cyprus) in 2009, Braga (Portugal) in 2011, London (UK) in 2013
and Madrid/Getafe (Spain) in 2015.
The conference’s website is available now at
http://radioresearch2017.org/ and will be further updated to provide the
latest news. Please bear in mind that due to many anniversary-connected
cultural and scientific events in Lublin it is advised to make a hotel
booking as soon as possible. You will find more details at the web site.
