[ecrea] MeCCSA 2017 conference

We're very excited about the MeCCSA (Media, Communication and Cultural 
Studies Association) 2017 conference at the University of Leeds next 
week (11-13 January) and look forward to meeting many of you there. 
Please note that registration has now closed but there are a few ways 
you can follow the conference if you cannot be there in person.

*Live Blog*: We will also be collating tweets, photos and short reports

is in 'test' stage until the conference starts on 11 January).
*Livestreaming*: And we will be livestreaming the keynote addresses

We are delighted that Professor Andrew Ross (NYU) will kick off the 
conference with his keynote address on 'High Culture/Hard Labour: 
Looking Beyond the Creatives'. We are honoured to have two distinguished 
speakers on Thursday 12 January: Dr Shakuntala Banaji (LSE) will discuss 
'Techno-emancipation and the youthful poor'; and Professor Paul Gilroy 
(King's) addresses 'The old new racism and the new old nationalism: 
melancholia and pro-spective nostalgia'. The conference programme will 
run until 3.30pm on Friday 13 January (UK time GMT) with Professor 
Barbie Zelizer (U of Penn) closing the conference for us with a keynote 
presentation entitled 'Resetting Journalism in the Aftermath of Brexit
