*_ The College of Communication and Media Sciences offers a comprehensive program of study, providing students opportunities to develop their communication skills and prepare themselves to play important professional leadership roles.

Our faculty represent approx. 17 different nationalities and are committed to our mission, which is to graduate students who:

• Understand the role of mass communication in Islamic and global cultures;
• Master written, oral and visual skills in English and Arabic;

Studies lead to a B.S. degree in Communication and Media Sciences with specializations in one of four areas: Converged Media, Film and Video Communications, Integrated Strategic Communications and Tourism and Cultural Communications. Undergraduate courses are single-gender education with male and female students attending separate classes in separate facilities. Graduate programs leading to an M.A. degree also exist in Tourism and Cultural Communication and in Strategic Public Relations.

The College of Communication and Media Sciences is seeking candidates to begin Fall 2017. A search for these positions will open immediately and remain open until filled.

_*The Responsibilities

*_ The College seeks candidates at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor levels. The College is seeking dynamic individuals who can provide expertise and leadership in the Film and Video Communications specialization. We seek candidates with innovative ideas who will be able to teach photojournalism, video and audio production/media and film and television. Candidates would be expected to be qualified to support these activities.

The position also requires the successful applicant to handle student advising, course development, serve on College-wide committees, conduct scholarly activities, including research and/or creative endeavors,engage in ongoing accreditation preparedness activities and teach both undergraduates and graduates.

_*The Requirements

*_ A Ph.D. or M.F.A. is required with relevant professional experience.Candidates for positions should have a record of previous teaching experience as well as professional experience and/or scholarly/creative activities in the area of emphasis and teaching experience that meets international standards. Candidates are expected to be effective teachers/scholars and are expected to teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs and be involved in outreach efforts to the community. Preference for positions will be given to candidates who demonstrate the ability to teach, conduct research and/or engage in creative activity and participate in interdisciplinary College efforts in addition to their specific areas of specialization.

Successful candidates should have the ability to contribute to at least one or more of the College’s required core courses such as: media and society; public speaking and persuasion; media history; media ethics; new media; intercultural and interpersonal communications;culture and media criticism; and/or multimedia design. Knowledge of entrepreneurship as well as experience in social/digital media and creativity is beneficial.

Also desired, but not required, is bi-lingual fluency in Arabic and English. Previous teaching experience in an ESL environment is helpful.Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.
