Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication at North Central College

The Department of Communication and Media Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a visiting one-year position at the rank of assistant professor beginning September 1, 2017. ABD applicants with the degree near completion will be considered; a Ph.D. in hand is desirable. Applicants should demonstrate potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring as well as a commitment to scholarship.

The department seeks a broadly trained teacher/scholar who specializes in public relations and digital media. The successful candidate will teach courses in public relations, digital media, public speaking and business and professional communication. Ability to teach group and interpersonal communication will be a plus. Applicants with professional experience are especially desired.

Founded in 1861, North Central College is a selective, comprehensive liberal arts institution of about 3000 students, located 28 miles west of Chicago in Naperville. The college is within walking distance of the Naperville Metra station and is next to downtown Naperville.
