[ecrea] IAMCR Awards 2016

In conjunction with the 2016 conference of the International Association
for Media and Communication Research - IAMCR, to be held in Leicester,
UK from 27-31 July, IAMCR is offering a number of grants and awards.
They include 26 travel grants, the Herbert Schiller Award, the Urban
Communication Research Grant, and a Climate Change Communication
Research award.

*Travel Grants*: Twenty-six travel grants of up to US$1,500 will be made
available to early-stage scholars who are members in good standing,
reside in low and middle income countries and have papers accepted for
presentation at our upcoming conference in Leicester, UK. The deadline
to apply is *15 April*, 2016. Details and conditions are at

*Herbert I. Schiller Award*: The IAMCR prize in memory of Herbert I.
Schiller will be awarded for a paper which combines scholarly excellence
with a commitment to developing and extending the critical, innovative
and engaged spirit that characterised Schiller's own contribution to
communications analysis. Graduate students and early-career scholars are
invited to apply. The deadline to apply is *15 April*, 2016. For

*UCF/IAMCR Urban Communication Research Grant*: Funded by the Urban
Communication Foundation, this grant supports communication and media
research that advances our understanding of the growing complexity of
the urban environment. The grant is open to all IAMCR members in good
standing. The deadline to apply is *15 April*, 2016. More information is

*Climate Change Communication Research in Action Award*: Offered in
cooperation with the International Environmental Communication
Association (IECA), this award seeks to recognise scholars whose
research has had a notable positive impact on the practice of climate
communication. Nominees do not need to be members of IAMCR or the IECA
but only members of either organisation may submit a nomination.
Nominations must be received by *6 May*, 2016. Details at
