[ecrea] Aberdeen Visual Culture – Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship Call

Wed Dec 09 11:42:10 GMT 2015

The George Washington Wilson Centre for Visual Culture (GWW) at the
University of Aberdeen invites expressions of interest from researchers
working on visual culture who are intending to apply to the 2016 round
of the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship scheme. Launched in 2013, GWW
brings together Aberdeen researchers with interests in film,
photography, visual culture and visual art from a range of disciplines,
including Film Studies, Modern Languages, History of Art and Comparative
Cultural Studies. It organises seminars, workshops and reading groups,
and maintains a blog exploring visual culture in its diversity:

Researchers interested in applying for a Leverhulme ECF with us should
submit a 1000-word outline of their proposed research project, setting
out significance and originality; aims and objectives; research
questions; and proposed outputs. Project outlines should be submitted by
Wednesday 6 January 2016 to the GWW Director, Professor Edward Welch
((edward.welch /at/ abdn.ac.uk) <mailto:(edward.welch /at/ abdn.ac.uk)>), to whom
informal enquiries can also be made. Decisions on supporting
applications will be made by Friday 15 January 2016, with applications
then undergoing Aberdeen's internal peer review process. The deadline
for submission of applications to the Leverhulme Trust is Thursday 10
March 2016.
To be eligible for this Fellowship scheme, applicants must have either
been awarded a degree from a UK university by the time of taking up the
Fellowship or currently hold a non-permanent academic post at a UK
university. More details about the scheme, including information on the
eligibility criteria and application process, are available on the
Leverhulme Trust website:
