[ecrea] announcement: Postcolonial, Communication and Social Justice: Decolonizing Imaginations

The Postcolonial, Communication and Social Justice:  Decolonizing 
Imaginations conference takes place next week. The conference takes 
place in a Philadelphia suburb--Radnor-- where the beautiful  Villanova 
University Conference Center is located.

This is the first  international conference on the theme of 
Postcoloniality and Media/Communication.  As a landmark and defining 
event for the interdisciplinary fields of media and communication 
studies the conference hopes to chart important pathways for research in 
the field.

Conference Organizers:  Drs. Bryan Crable  ((bryan.crable /at/ villanova.edu)) 
&  Raka Shome ((r.shome /at/ yahoo.com))

Distinguished keynote speakers include Professors Arjun Appadurai, 
Inderpal Grewal, and Ravi Sundaram

Fifteen esteemed plenary speakers will also deliver addresses.

The conference will also feature a  tribute (session) to  (the late)  
Stuart  Hall that will reflect on his contributions  especially in light 
of the conference theme.   The tribute will be offered by the three 
distinguished keynote speakers.

Organizers also welcome individuals not presenting but wish to attend 
the sessions. While the conference hotels are almost full, there are 
several hotels in the area. Registration fees will be required to attend 
sessions and participate in the several receptions (that include meals).
