UNIDEE - University of Ideas at Cittadellarte in Biella (Italy) is a
multifaceted educational platform investigating the relationship between
art and public sphere, through a new programme of weekly residential
modules based on interdisciplinary research, knowledge sharing and
experience exchange, alongside a series of artists’ residency projects.
The programme, developed by Cecilia Guida in collaboration with Juan
Esteban Sandoval, kicks off on 04.05.2015, and focuses on three broad
concepts: temporality, responsibility, participation, encompassing art
history, activism, commons, politics, territorial transformation,
museology, visual narratives, social imagery, relational systems,
rituals, social cooking, urban space (etc.).

04-08.05.2015 (Salvatore Iaconesi & Oriana Persico)
How do the masses of data making up Ubiquitous Infoscapes radically
transform our lives and perception of the world? How do they affect
public, private, intimate spaces, our rights, approach to
knowledge-sharing, learning, expression and communication?

11-15.05.2015 (Silvia Franceschini with Stefano Rabolli Pansera, Beyond
Entropy)
Changing nothing so that everything is different reflects on the idea of
the city and its post-industrial evolution in Europe, while questioning
artistic practices' role in gentrification processes, also taking
Cittadellarte as a case study of regeneration.

18-22.05.2015 (Aria Spinelli with Tullio Brunone)
Curating as a form of assembly focuses on alternative modes of thinking
society. It discusses and enacts how ‘curating’, through imaginative
forms of political emancipation, can shift power relations between
artists, authors and contexts.

25-29.05.2015 (Massimiliano Viel)
Through theory, listening experiences and practical laboratories,
Patterns and Music proposes music production techniques, alongside
strategies to deal with music in its broadest acceptation, unmasking the
conceptual frame of cognitive patterns when dealing with the evolution
of music structures.

By addressing practical matters (rates of pay, fundraising, marketing,
proposal writing, effective networking, interaction with the art world,
… ), The Artist as Entrepreneur: relationships between artists, society,
markets and world economy provides tools for working internationally as
an independent professional artist.

How can we turn a museum from a temple for conservation of essential
categories, into a new affective site where to activate dynamics?
Performing Anthropology aims to unmask the assumptions beneath our
cultural understanding of key concepts like museum, archive, modernity,
in relation to time, space, identity.

22-26.06.2015 (Saioa Olmo Alonso with Sabel Gavaldón)
Group Matters is a methodology in progress exploring relational
mechanisms within groups to develop a type of knowledge applicable to
participatory art projects and the transformative potential of art
concerning power relations within social structures.

The artistic production of the common between territorialization and
(re)localisation focuses on the spatial and symbolic production of the
common in art and place-making practices, meant as a tool for
territorialization processes and (re)localisation of artistic practices
within socio-cultural contexts. Deadline: 29.05.2015
31.08-04.09.2015 (Federica Martini with Anne-Julie Raccoursier)
Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear: contemporary art
histories and other news investigates the writing of art histories in
contemporary artistic research practices, the notions of responsibility
and collective authorship and our relationship to archives, documents,
artworks and oral histories produced by art scenes.

What do we have in Common? is an experiment in living, learning and
working together. an horizontal learning school focusing on the
personal, political and aesthetic horizons of the commons. It emphasizes
the importance of acknowledging maintenance work and collective
caretaking as an integral to working toward enacting a common practice.
