We are glad to announce University of Bucharest organizes the
international conference
Travellers and Travels. Seeing old places, looking for new ones, 23 and
24 October 2015.
Among all the areas, this conference give the voice to all researchers
who are working focused in the following areas:
1. Branding and tourism brands
- Travelling towards the Other: brands of “glocalization”
- Identity, otherness, stereotype in making the country brand
- “Good Country Index” – advertising mythologies for a perfect space
projection
- Place branding: communication strategies and applications, advertising
and public relations
- Public diplomacy, national lobby and country image
- Made in Romania: promoting Romanian brands
2. Tourism advertising and marketing
- Stamps and postcards – destinations between propaganda and marketing
- Travellers and consumers: consumption habits and trends in tourism
- Marketing of travels: national and international tourism fairs
- Digital travels and experiential marketing or the virtualization of
travelling by means of new technologies
- Travel agencies and specific promotion strategies
- “Consumer Journey” – contemporary tendencies in the construction of
promotion and PR strategies, applied in the field of tourism
- Tourism international / domestic market: a compared perspective
3. Ethics and politics – current risks for the industry of tourism
- Social responsibility, risk and ethics in the field of tourism
- World crises and tourism
This conference is organised by Department of Communication Sciences,
Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest. We would like to invite all
academic and researchers interested in working on these both traditional
and innovative areas in travel communication.
Abstracts Authors are invited to submit an abstract of no more than 500
words, accompanied by 5-7 key words and a short bibliography, in Times
New Roman font, size 12 points, 1.5 line spacing. The document needs to
include the author’s name, current affiliation and title. The abstract
and data are to be sent Ana Maria Teodorescu, (anamete2002 /at/ yahoo.com).
Calendar Deadline for abstract submission: 1 May 2015 Notification of
abstract acceptance: 1 June 2015 Deadline for full paper submission: 15
November 2015 Conference languages: Romanian, English and French
Participation fee: 50 RON (Master and Doctoral students); 100 RON
(Romanian participants), 30 euro (foreign participants). The fee
includes lunches and coffee breaks during the conference. Abstracts and
papers will be submitted to peer review analysis by members of the
scientific committee of the Conference.
The volume of the Conference proceedings will be published by Editura
Universita?ii din Bucure?ti, in 2016. A selection of studies will be
published in the "Library and Information Science Research" journal,
which is indexed into several databases (ProQuest, EBSCOhost, C.E.E.O.L,
RePEc, DOAJ).
