Fri Jan 23 08:25:45 GMT 2015
Learning, Transforming, Technique, 10-13th April 2015, Melin Dolwion,
Drefach Felindre, Carmarthenshire
Invitation for Proposals
Join us for a residential weekend exploring learning techniques and
transformational education practices in rural Wales.
We invite you to submit ideas for learning sessions at this unique event.
Be experimental and try new things out! Use noise, words, space, time,
film, images, movement, singing, laughing, talking.
This is not your average eduction weekend. We aim to explore the
possibilities and the limits of learning, and in so doing, develop and
share techniques to transform our practices.
Some questions to consider when developing your proposal include (but
are not limited to)
* How can we open up room for discussion, feeling and action?
* In what ways does how we learn influence what we know?
* How can collective learning actions empower communities to act and
think independently?
* In what ways can teaching and learning be realised as activism?
Examples of activity could be
* Using silence, movement or mark making as a tool to reflect or respond
to a poetic text
* Re-visiting passages from Paulo Freire or bell hooks to practice
critical pedagogies that already exist
* Use our garden to explore how permaculture principles can be used in
learning situations
* Inhabit different rooms in the mill to explore how to embody thinking
and perspective differently
Please send us a short description of your session idea by Friday 6
March 2015 to (create.ahh /at/ gmail.com)
Full details of the programme will be published at the 16 March, 2015.
