Job Title: Senior Lecturer in Music and Audio Technology
Salary Range:
£36,309-45,954 (Senior Lecturer)
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established subject group
with an international reputation for research and collaboration. We are
looking for expertise in acoustics, DSP for audio and music, audio
electronics and the design and development of performance interfaces. It
is also expected that the successful applicant will make a significant
contribution to our taught courses and research activity. Applicants
should have proven success in the delivery of taught programmes and a
commitment to enhancing the student experience. Opportunities exist for
programme leadership and possibly subject management. This post would
ideally suit an experienced person wishing to further develop their
academic career with this in mind. We are also interested in applicants
with expertise in the topic areas listed to provide teaching and module
leadership on specialist modules relating to Music and Audio Technology.
The job involves planning, delivering and evaluating teaching sessions
required for Music and Audio Technology; supporting students in their
learning activities; developing and implementing suitable assessment
strategies; contributing to curricula development; contributing to
research, external income generation, and international activities. For
the right candidate, this may involve a leadership role.
The role is one of several new academic posts aligned strategically to
the new Leicester Media School.
This particular role is designed to:
• deliver core curricula
• develop and enhance industry links
• develop research activity and capacity
• further enhance graduate employability
• develop innovative cutting edge curricula
• assist in developing an international reputation and enhance
international recruitment

• have experience of teaching undergraduate students
• have a relevant research profile

This is an opportunity to lead and teach the established and popular
Public Relations pathway, comprised of modules in years 2 & 3, on a
longstanding and succesful Media & Communications programme.
The role includes teaching on the successful undergraduate programme (BA
Hons Media & Communication). The role holder must have solid teaching
experience at HE level and be committed to enhancing the student
experience. The role holder will also be expected to make a significant
contribution to employability and engagement with relevant professional
organisations and as such should have links with the PR industry.
Additionally, they will contribute substantially to the development of
the research activity and capacity in the Media & Communication area.
The role holder will also play an active part in developing capacity and
capability for external income generation.
