The Department of Communication Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the
Negev is recruiting new faculty members as it is expanding its
activities in both research and teaching.
The department is seeking new faculty who hold a terminal degree in
communications and media studies or related fields as long as the focus
of their research is in the field of communication and media studies.
ABDs expecting to graduate before October 2015 will also be considered.
The candidates are required to specialize in at least one of the
department’s three areas of research: new media, media and
multiculturalism, and the media industries. The candidates need to
demonstrate they have an active research agenda in one or more of these
fields as well as experience in both research and teaching in these areas.
The Department of Communication Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the
Negev has been awarding graduate degrees for 15 years. The current
faculty is deeply involved in research activity in Israel and abroad.
The expectation is that the new faculty member/s will further the
department’s research activities, excel in teaching and become active
member/s of the university and of the Israeli and international research
community.
The department encourages submission of candidacies from a diverse field
of academic, personal and professional backgrounds, that can help enrich
the department with new ideas, diverse research methods, creative
approaches, as well as openness and tolerance to the multi facets of
Israeli society.

The position/s are contingent upon final approval by the university
authorities and appropriate budgeting.
