[ecrea] Call for chapters - edited collection Hebdige
Thu Jan 08 20:38:17 GMT 2015
The Subcultures Network
(http://www.reading.ac.uk/history/research/subcultures/) is currently
putting together a proposal for an edited collection that revisits the
work of Dick Hebdige 35 years after the publication of Subculture: The
Meaning of Style. The collection aims to assess and explore the impact
of Hebdige’s work on youth cultural studies as well as across a variety
of disciplines .
We are currently seeking chapters on Hebdige and contemporary
subcultures (for example (but not limited to): bass music, spiritual
subcultures, environmental activism, political subcultures, blogging,
online zines, new punk). If you are currently working on any of these
areas and would be interested in contributing to the collection please
email Sian Lincoln ((s.lincoln /at/ ljmu.ac.uk)) or Pete Webb ((pw365 /at/ cam.ac.uk))
for more information or send a brief 150 word abstract of your proposed
chapter to us. If possible could you get in touch by Friday 16th January
2015 as we are working to a rather tight deadline.
Many thanks,
Sian Lincoln and Pete Webb
