ComLoc 2015. XIII Congress of Local Communication
"The public media of proximity in Europe. The closedown of RTVV as a 
paradigm"

The Universitat Jaume I of Castellón will host next year the XIII 
Congress of Local Communication – ComLoc 2015 (15, 16 and 17 April 
2015), on the overall thematic framework of crisis of public media of 
proximity in Europe.

As a starting point, ComLoc 2015 raises two main objectives. On the one 
hand, reflecting on the role and importance of public media in 
contemporary European societies, especially the proximity media. And 
secondly, identifying and analyzing the consequences of the decline of 
these public media in the social, economic, professional, and democratic 
level.

Within the study of the proximity public media, the main themes of the 
conference are: management and governance models; programming design of 
public radio and television; new trends in content production; main 
social and democratic effects; and economic and professional 
transformations of the sector. This broad thematic overview will be 
approached from different academic and professional perspectives.

The deadline for proposal submission is opened until January 25th 2015.
