Lecturer - £31,342 to £35,256 per annum

Senior Lecturer - £36,309 to £45,954 per annum



The School of Media and Film within the Faculty of Arts at the University of Winchester is a vibrant community of teachers, researchers and practitioners dedicated to the provision of a challenging and high quality learning experience for students following programmes in Film Production, Media Production, Digital Media, Media and Communication and Film Studies.



The School has a strong tradition of combining excellent teaching with professional practice in film and media production and a vibrant research culture with 35% of the work submitted to the 2008 RAE being classed as international standing or higher. The University is fully committed to recognising and supporting creative activity as research and knowledge exchange.



The BA (Hons) Film Production is an established programme that has seen significant growth in recent years. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic film maker/academic to make a significant contribution to the programme and further develop the programme team.



As Lecturer, you will bring a passion for filmmaking and enthusiastic film centric approach. You will have experience of teaching in a university or at university level and experience of film making in a professional context.



As Senior Lecturer you will have significant experience of teaching in a university context and substantial professional filmmaking or an established research profile.



As our ideal candidate for this post, you will have recent professional experience as a filmmaker in either drama or documentary production or experimental/guerrilla filmmaking practices and teaching skills of the highest quality. You will have excellent communication skills, together with the ability to maintain an established professional practice or research profile or (for the Lecturer post) to have the potential to establish a professional practice or research profile. Most important of all is a passion for film making and the encouragement of a new generation of film makers.
