The Opportunity
Monash University Malaysia seeks an outstanding senior academic to lead 
the School of Arts and Social Sciences. The head will provide direction 
on overall school strategy and operations, ensure that campus targets 
for research, education, and student recruitment are met, and facilitate 
collaboration with the Faculty of Arts in Australia. Outcomes are 
achieved by providing leadership and guidance to senior colleagues, by 
managing a one-line budget, and through collegial forums.

Distinguished academics who have taught and researched in areas of 
Communications and Cultural Studies, International Relations/Studies, 
Journalism and Media Studies are particularly encouraged to apply. Other 
areas of interest will also be considered.

Duration
The appointment will be for a fixed term of five years. Subject to 
performance and other criteria, a further term may be negotiable, either 
with Monash Malaysia, or the School of Social Sciences at Monash Australia.

The appointment will be under Malaysian benefits, terms and conditions. 
A competitive remuneration package will be negotiable for an outstanding 
appointee. Relocation travel and removal benefits are available.
