Call for submissions: SMID's biennial meeting 2014

We are happy to announce the theme of this year’s meeting and to invite 
you to contribute to the discussions. The theme for the meeting will be:

Danish Media Research: state of the art – future prospects
The meeting will take place at:
Sinatur Hotel Storebælt in Nyborg
– just by Great Belt Bridge; close to E20 and public transportation.

SMiD presents an exciting program of distinguished scholars including 
(among others – including all your colleagues):
Professor Charles Ess, University of Oslo (opening keynote)
Professor Kirsten Drotner, University of Southern Denmark (keynote)
Professor Peter Lunt, University of Leicester (keynote)
Associate Professor Mats Jönsson, University of Lund (keynote)
Professor Karin Wahl Jørgensen, Cardiff University (keynote)

We invite you to present your work and take part in setting the stage 
for Danish Media Research today and tomorrow. Subjects could include – 
but are not limited to:

- Media studies – methods, theories, and subjects
- Media studies and related research fields
- New media, new users, new research
- Structural challenges for Danish media research
- New collaborations – new possibilities
- Media studies and the media market
- Danish media research in an international perspective

Submissions in Nordic languages or English are welcome.

Authors may decide, whether their submission should be visible for other 
participants only or public in the SMiD Conference Proceeding.

Deadlines:
- Extended abstract (max 500 words): 8 September 2014
Abstracts should be submitted through the submission system:

- Notification of acceptance: Mid-September
- Registration: 1st October 2014
Members of SMiD will get a discount of the registration fee of 700 DKK 
(equal to the annual member’s fee). If you wish to be a member of SMiD,
