‘Media and nostalgia’ is an interdisciplinary and international collection of critical approaches to nostalgia, analysing specifically its recent boom and its relations with various media. The authors take a closer look at how nostalgia has always been a media-related matter, how media trigger nostalgic emotions, how they produce nostalgic narratives and how they can be a creative projection space for nostalgia. The collection analyses film, photography, television, music, professional networks, literature, works of art, home videos and print advertising. The chapters tackle the subject critically with reflections on political and commercial uses of nostalgia and explorations of its recent boom in digital environments.
