The Division of Communications, Media and Culture, University of Stirling, is currently advertising for two lectureships in Digital Journalism and Public Relations.

1) Lectureship in Digital Journalism

The Post

The University of Stirling wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced candidate at Lecturer level to pursue research in Digital Journalism as a member of the Stirling Media Research Institute, to teach and supervise postgraduate and undergraduate students, and to undertake administrative duties as appropriate. The likely contribution by candidates to future Research Excellence Framework ratings will be of particular importance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in both Communications, Media and Culture’s and the School of Arts and Humanities’ expanding portfolio of Undergraduate and Master-level programmes by developing specialist provision where appropriate, and to supervise doctoral students. The successful candidate will also evidence the capacity to take a development role in Journalism at Stirling, and will pursue opportunities for collaborative activities in the School. Applications will be welcome from those who have research specialisms in a range of areas in Digital Journalism/Journalism Studies. Consideration may be given to candidates able to teach production modules and/or submit practice research of the highest level in digital or broadcast journalism. It is hoped that the successful candidate would be able to take up his/her appointment from 1st September 2014.

The University of Stirling wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced candidate at Lecturer level to pursue research in Public Relations as a member of the Stirling Media Research Institute, to teach and supervise postgraduate and undergraduate students, and to undertake administrative duties as appropriate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in both CMC’s and the School of Arts and Humanities expanding portfolio of Masters programmes by developing specialist provision where appropriate, and to supervise doctoral students. The successful candidate will also evidence the capacity to take a leadership and development role in Public Relations at Stirling, will take on the role of course director for one or more of the TPG programmes, and will pursue opportunities for collaborative activities in the School, for example with colleagues in Media Management (advertising module) or Publishing and Law, as well as in other parts of the University such as the School of Management. Applications will be welcome from those who have research specialisms in a range of areas in Public Relations or cognate areas of advertising and marketing.
