Senior Lecturer, Digital Television Production (practice-based post, with theory), Ravensbourne, Greenwich, London, UK.

Our new Digital Television Production BA (Hons.) is already a success, attracting a high number of students and accolades from the Broadcast Industry for its innovative approach. The course teaches traditional television production at level one, at level two second screen and interactive modes and connected television are introduced. Third year students are encouraged to undertake more experimental projects to extend television in innovative ways.

We are EITHER seeking a television practitioner with current skills who wishes to teach and innovate OR a practitioner-academic to teach and contribute to our applied research agenda in connection with emerging broadcast technology or practices. Job-share will be considered as we are keen our Senior Lecturers are active in industry where possible.

The successful applicant will have the ability to teach traditional TV skills connected with the production of either location or studio-based production, and across all multiple genres of production. The role would suit someone who has an interest and awareness of how to reach audiences in new ways, through interactivity and multi-platform storytelling for example through the use of second screen and social media.

As well as having current practical experience of television production, the appointee will need to have experience of teaching and undertaking assessment at either Higher Education or Further Education level. They will be proficient in IT skills, and have a working knowledge of streaming/Internet television OR a strong interest in emerging forms of television. Overall, we are seeking someone with energy, good communication skills, enthusiasm, and an interest in innovating within the sphere of the expanding world of televisual media in the digital realm.
Salary: £42,676 p.a. + Benefits
