University of Tartu, institute of Social Studies announces two openings:
Professorship in Media studies

Professor of Media Studies
Structural unit: Institute of Social Studies
Duties and responsibilities:
The candidate must be qualified to conduct and arrange teaching in the
field of media studies on all levels of higher education according to
the needs of the Institute of Social Studies of the University of Tartu.
The task of the professor is to supervise students' research on all
three academic study levels.
The professor has to direct, coordinate, carry out research and secure
funding for research in the field of media studies.

Work load: 1,0, and the classroom teaching load at least 128 academic
hours per calendar year
Term of contract: 01.11.2014 to 31.08.2019

Required qualifications: PhD or an equivalent qualification.

Required experience:
The candidate must be qualified to teach the courses of methodology and
theory in the field of media studies on all three academic study levels
(according to the needs of the Institute), supervise doctoral students
and seek funding for conducting research in the field of media studies.
The candidate has to be be an internationally acknowledged expert who
has ample experience of publishing.
Required language skills:
Excellent command of English. Preparedness to acquire the Estonian
language, at least level A1, in the first three years of employment.
